Worldwide Sales Engineer
Our continued growth has created an opening for a highly motivated Worldwide Sales Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for achieving maximum profitable sales by developing and expanding our technical sales and marketing programs and by maintaining effective working relationships with our customers, sales representatives, engineering and sales staff.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Achieve sales quota in designated territory by working through a network of Manufacturer's Representatives and through direct sales efforts.
- Direct sales and service negotiations and close sales as necessary.
- Maintain customer records in the Sales reporting system and provide bookings and revenue forecasts as required.
- Coordinate department operations, and oversee effective utilization of customer sales and service resources to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
Education/Experience:
We are seeking talented individuals with a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
- A minimum of five years capital equipment sales experience required along with a proven track record of successful customer sales and quality customer service.
- A strong technical background in lasers, optics, electronics, manufacturing, robotics, motion control systems and/or semiconductor processing equipment is required.
- Must be proficient with accurately organizing and compiling technical information into detailed sales quotations and technical proposals.
- Expertise in formulating market and sales strategies to expand existing markets, introduce products into new markets and launch new product lines
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high tech company.
- Willingness to travel worldwide up to 25 – 30% of time.
- “Hands on” Engineer with 2 – 5 years’ related experience – background in UV excimer and solid state lasers is a plus.
Sr. Accountant
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Preparation of financial statements and financial analysis as well as journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company policies
- Timely and accurate preparation of month and year end closings
- Responsible for reconciling general ledger to perpetual inventory
- Maintain accurate records for revenue recognition and associated cost of sales
- Perform monthly commission calculations for in-house and outside sales reps
- Provide training and support to the Accounting Department
- Coordinate activities administer Sales Order Process, ensuring orders are compliant to financial system requirements
- Responsible for Letter of Credit documentation requirements
- Assist with implementation of cash management and cost control procedures
- Provide accurate financial and Data Analysis Reports to Management.
- Assist in Annual Audit process.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business or Accounting

Laser System Field Service Engineers-Taiwan & China
JPSA is looking for good people who speak Chinese to work in Taiwan and China! Do you have fundamental mechanical, electrical, and computer skills as well as an aptitude for learning new skills in optics or photonics? We will train the right people. We need people with great attitudes, long-term commitment to professional excellence, and a methodical, goal-driven approach to problem solving. You will be interviewed in English and successful candidates will go the USA Boston region for training.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Installing laser systems and accessory components for customers worldwide.
- Troubleshooting, refurbishing and optimizing laser system performance.
- Mechanical and optical assembly of lasers and subsystem components.
- Routine maintenance of in-house and customer laser systems.
- Providing system training for laser operators.
- Responsible for the completion and submission of field service reports and weekly expense reports.
- Effectively communicating with customers in English and Chinese.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of engineering and/or science; OR a bachelor's degree in another field and a strong aptitude for technical services.
- Previous field service experience is desired. Solid mechanical understanding; ability to analyze, evaluate, and assess complex and intricate mechanical components.
- Considerable knowledge of and ability to apply analog and digital electronics. This involves a basic understanding of troubleshooting techniques and approaches.
- Requires strong computer skills. Ability to prepare reports and other appropriate documentation.

Director of Engineering
JPSA is currently seeking a highly motivated, “hands on” Director of Engineering to lead our talented engineering team in our fast paced manufacturing facility in Manchester, NH.
This key individual will be responsible for providing leadership and managing all aspects of the Laser Engineering department to include: Mechanical, Electrical, Software, & Hardware Control. The successful candidate will be accountable for the performance of the overall engineering department, including coordinating the efforts required to effectively develop and implement new laser products and engineering initiatives that support the company’s growth objectives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assigns all projects to engineers and teams. Establishes priorities to ensure alignment with company goals. Adjusts the department workload and scheduling to ensure commitments are attainable. Monitors team’s progress and assists as necessary when goals are in jeopardy. Develops key processes and programs that ensure smooth department operation.
- Manages the budget based on the department plan. Executes the product development strategy as defined by the business leadership team. Holds others accountable as appropriate to meet objectives. Identifies new technologies that can be applied to our industry. Assists as needed in writing technical proposals and patents. Builds an environment and culture that will attract, retain and develop engineering talent. Demonstrates sound technical management and leadership skills.
- Performs management and administrative related duties required to coordinate technical projects and activities. Will direct the design, and implementation of complex system requirements for new laser products.
- Coaches and mentors engineers and technicians to obtain their best work and gain the knowledge and proficiency necessary to perform their jobs. Is responsible for the productivity of all members of the department. Cultivates a work environment of professionalism, learning, teamwork and dedication among personnel.
- Coordinates the initial planning and system definition phase of a project, system integration, and verification process, and provides performance requirement solutions.
- Directs all aspects of Engineering Department operation to meet product development and deliverables on time and on budget.
- Leads the department efforts to effectively develop and implement new product engineering initiatives that support the company’s growth objectives.
- Develops and maintains engineering and technology road map that will result in JPSA products of the highest level of quality and capability offered to our chosen markets.
- Works with Product Management and Marketing to: define technical aspects of new products; generate system and key subsystem specifications; identify key technical risks; estimate engineering and machine cost and schedules; and direct engineering project leaders to ensure communication and coordination of all aspects of initiating engineering projects.
- Identifies, assigns, and mentors engineering project leaders, and provides regular oversight to ensure that projects are properly scoped, that budgets and schedules are accurately represented within Company ERP systems, that execution of projects is progressing to plan, and that estimated status of projects is accurately communicated.
- Works with project and product management to coordinate and optimize engineering resources, and identify where temporary and/or permanent expansion of resources is necessary. Manages any technical or engineering temporary labor or third party service agreements as necessary to meet project plans.
- Manages multiple priorities. Supervises the development of work plans and schedules for assigned projects, the monitoring and reporting of project’s status, the development of product specifications, and is responsible for product performance.
Education, Skills & Experience
- BS Engineering or Physics, advanced technical degree strongly preferred
- “Hands on” Engineering Leader - 7+ years’ increasing complex system engineering management experience, successfully leading cross-functional teams of engineers and/or scientists in the development and design of precision machines or other complex precision systems within a product manufacturing environment.
- Must have a high degree of project management proficiency and successful history of prioritizing projects and managing cost and schedules with accurate and regular reporting to management resulting in accurate deliverables and revenue goals.
- Solid theoretical or practical knowledge of automation systems, servo systems, precision positioning equipment and mechanics, optics and lasers. Excimer laser experience or additional background in short pulse or solid state lasers is a plus.
- Experience with the design and implementation of high voltage discharge circuits and components. Proficiency with analytical tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, senior management, customers (including presentation experience) and other personnel
Excimer Laser Engineer
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage excimer laser projects and provide product development and performance requirement solutions
- Coordinate the design, assembly, testing and production of standard and R&D excimer laser systems and components
- Plan and execute experimental test programs with carefully documented data and reports
- Design and test modules and conduct detailed analysis of lasers and laser components.
- Interface with Manufacturing to ensure that the laser systems conform to engineering designs and customer specifications
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Physics or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years UV laser experience; M.S. or PhD degree is preferred
- "Hands on" experimentalist with strong electronics and PC background
- Experience with the design and implementation of high voltage discharge circuits, gas lasers, vacuum and systems
- Knowledge of automation systems for lasers
- Excimer laser experience is required; additional background in short pulse or solid state lasers is a plus in electrical engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience working with motion control assemblies.
