JPSA UV Laser Applications — Polymers
The following are examples of polymer processing at the JPSA applications laboratory.
This bumped formation is an example of the positive and negative complex features that are micromachined to exact tolerances at JPSA.

Tapered ink-jet nozzle (30μm +/-0.5μm exit hole)
Counterbored ink-jet nozzle (a 30µm exit hole) as an example of a complex 3-D geometric feature that can be made with a JPSA IX-series UV laser system
Another example of a micro-nozzle made at JPSA using the IX-series of excimer UV laser micromachining systems
An example of a shaped nozzle, shown in cross section (an elliptical countersink with 20µm exit and 200µm x 50µm entrance)
An example of the high-taper angle and the degree of control achieved with JPSA’s excimer UV laser systems
