Imaging Systems

There are two types of imaging systems, long-working-distance and microscope imaging. The system you choose depends on your application requirements.

Long working distance

• Objective focal lengths greater than 50mm
• Object distances up to 2 meters
• Working distance up to 100µm
• Demagnifications less than 15x
• Potential for high beam utilization
• Part viewing can be problematic

Microscope imaging

• Objective focal lengths: 10mm to 30mm
• Object distances ~500mm
• Working distances 5mm to 10mm
• Depth of field: 1µm to 5µm
• Demagnifications: 20x to 60x
• Low beam utilization
• Through-the-lens part viewing
• Complex mask illumination required for reflective objective
